Annual Symposium: CIVILITY IN PUBLIC CONVERSATION: Have we lost our ability to talk? | ||
| Date : | May 21-25, 2012 | |
| Location : | Grand Forks, ND | |
| We are hitting the campaign trail and one of the hottest topics of our time! Lets talk about why we can't talk without inciting riots and taking hard-line and extreme positions; and why Washington has gone from a place where our representatives could have lunch AND still fight hard for what they believe to be right, to large empty spaces where you can't cross invisible party lines. What do the various schools of thought have to offer? What causes incivility, how does it benefit or harm us as a society and a democracy, and where are we headed? Look on our website as we create our esteemed guest list! Call if you want to help with this community-wide event! |

The mission of the Conflict Transformation Certificate is to provide students with conceptual and practical background about conflict and conflict management so that they may better understand conflict in their professional and personal lives and deal with it more effectively.
The Conflict Resolution Center (CRC) offers Workplace Mediation seminars every year to anyone interested in transforming workplace culture. Learn new or add to your existing skills in working more effectively with conflict at work as a party to conflict as well as a third-party mediator. Gain comfort in handling conflict between co-workers, supervisors, and management. Rather than ignore the conflict and hope it goes away, learn how to facilitate difficult conversations and work toward understanding and better decisions.
Do you use the "spray and pray" approach to workplace training? Expose everybody to the training and hope it sticks to some?
