Interested in mediation? The Conflict Resolution Center (CRC) offers several Civil Mediation seminars every year to teach people transformative mediation skills. Learn new or add to your existing skills in working more effectively with conflict in your community, nieghborhoods, and with small claims and civil cases. Gain comfort in handling conflict in a variety of non-familial settings.
Learn the skills necessary to become a civil mediator during one of our Civil Mediation seminars. Our Civil Mediation seminar will cover:
- Understanding the dynamics of conflict
- Impact of conflict on human interaction and relationships
- Transformative Mediation Theory
- Role of empowerment and recognition
- Mediator skills and interventions
- Ethics
A significant portion of the seminar is also devoted to mediation practice where you will be able to practice your skills and receive instant feedback from one of our experienced coaches.
Our Civil Mediation seminars meet the requirements for Alternative Dispute Resolution training in North Dakota and Minnesota .
- Participants are eligible for the ND and MN Supreme Court neutral roster.
- Participants are eligible for 2 Continuing Education graduate credits, (COUN 900, workshop-seminar credits) through the University of North Dakota 's Continuing Education Department. (Cost $100)
- Attorneys are eligible for 37.5 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits and 4 Ethics credits in North Dakota or 35.5 CLE credits and 3.5 Ethics credits in Minnesota for our 40-hour seminars.
